Concrete in Cullman County, Alabama
Cullman County is one of the fastest-growing parts of our service area and our work here reflects that. The I-65 corridor through Cullman has pulled in a wave of commercial development — hotels, retail outparcels, medical buildings, industrial expansion — and that growth has spilled into the residential market with new subdivisions on both sides of the interstate and steady custom-home construction out toward Smith Lake. We pour for builders, homeowners and commercial GCs on a regular basis throughout the county.
In town, Cullman is mostly residential and small commercial. Stamped patios are a constant request in the newer neighborhoods on the east side of town, and we pour a lot of driveway replacements in the older central neighborhoods. Hanceville's growth around the Wallace State campus and the basilica has kept us busy with patios, sidewalks and small commercial flatwork. Good Hope, Holly Pond and Vinemont fall somewhere between suburban and rural — bigger lots, longer driveways, larger residential pours, with the occasional small-business slab.
Smith Lake is the other half of the Cullman County story. The lake-side communities — Crane Hill, Trimble, Logan, the Smith Lake Park area — have some of the steepest residential lots in North Alabama. A lot of those lots need shotcrete retaining walls before a house can be built, and almost every backyard patio or pool deck on the lake side needs a line pump to reach the form. We do that work weekly. Boat-ramp pads, lake-side stamped patios, pool decks and engineered retaining walls are bread and butter for us on the lake.
Commercial concrete in Cullman has changed character over the last decade. What used to be small-town commercial — a downtown building here, a strip center there — is now a real commercial market with outparcels along Highway 157 and the AL-69 / I-65 interchange driving most of the activity. The jobs are bigger, the spec is tighter, and the schedule is less forgiving. We bring the equipment, the crew size and the experience to hit those schedules without sacrificing finish quality.
Out toward Baileyton, Dodge City and the Colony area, the work returns to rural — long driveway pours, shop and barn pads, equipment slabs and the occasional storm shelter. We cover all of it because we've built relationships with the local ready-mix plants and we can move a crew anywhere in the county on short notice.
