Concrete in Colbert County, Alabama
Colbert County sits along the Tennessee River across from Florence and forms the southern half of the Shoals area. Muscle Shoals, Tuscumbia, Sheffield and Cherokee are the population centers, and we cover all of them for residential and commercial concrete. The drive from our yard takes a little under an hour, but the demand is steady enough that we're in the county most weeks.
Muscle Shoals is the biggest of the Shoals cities and where the most active residential market sits. Newer subdivisions on the south and east sides of town need new-construction driveways, garage floors and back patios on a continuous basis, while the older neighborhoods need a lot of replacement work. We pour a fair number of stamped patios in Muscle Shoals — the market has shifted toward decorative finishes for outdoor living spaces over the last decade.
Tuscumbia and Sheffield are older Shoals cities and the concrete work reflects that. Driveway replacements, sidewalk work, garage-floor repours and the occasional new foundation. Tuscumbia's historic district sees periodic restoration work that requires careful demo and replacement to match what's there. Sheffield's downtown and the industrial pockets on the river side need commercial flatwork, building foundations and small loading-dock aprons.
Cherokee and Leighton sit on the western end of the county. Cherokee leans rural-residential with longer lots, longer driveways and the occasional small commercial pour along Highway 72. Leighton is mostly residential with a steady flow of driveways, patios and garage slabs. Both communities are part of our regular Colbert County route.
Commercial work in Colbert County is concentrated along Highway 72 and in the industrial pockets around Sheffield and Muscle Shoals. Convenience stores, contractor yards, medical buildings, retail outparcels and the occasional larger industrial slab. We coordinate with the GC, pour to spec and hit the schedule. The Shoals' growing commercial market has kept this end of our business busy.
